FYI I have a Sony 1302 Multiscan monitor, purchased when VGA was just a glimmer. When used with a VGA card (ATI), the vertical size of the image enlarges when switching to resolutions higher than 640x350. However, I spoke to a Sony rep (Greg, at (800) 438-7669), and he said Sony has an upgrade for this monitor that fixes this problem. It costs about $100, and can be done at Sony service centers. He also said that even though the monitor is not rated as such, it can display 1024 by 768 interlaced SuperDuperVGA without danger to the monitor. I tried it last night with the ATI VGA Wonder, and the image was perfect and rock steady (after I adjusted the vertical size). One other tidbit: the analog connections should ground pins 4 & 11 for autosense functions to work properly with this monitor. Cheers, --Gil
