[comp.sys.ibm.pc] HELP: PD MATLAB appears broken. . .

cjoslyn@bingvaxu.cc.binghamton.edu (Cliff Joslyn) (12/14/89)

Hello. I've downloaded MATLAB from SIMTEL, and I can't get it to give
me anything.  Here's some output:

     < M A T L A B >
   Version of 05/25/82

HELP is available

I ran this after booting w/generic DOS 3.3, no TSR's or anything. Any
ideas?

Don't know about the PD version, but the commercial version does
require a math coprocessor, in the absence of which it acts just like
the way PD MATLAB seems to be acting. However, I used a 8087 emulator
program on my 386, and everything worked out like a charm. Some kind
gentleman, Fred, on the net originally sent me this shareware emulator;
if anyone else needs it, email me and I will mail it ASAP.

Hope this helps.
