[comp.sys.ibm.pc] questions about software for the PC

wjb@moss.ATT.COM (Bill Buie,14X-YYY,6100,ATTT) (12/16/89)

First, please email responses to moss!wjb, because I don't regularly read this
group.

But I was wondering if any such software exists that can do the following:

(temporarily) re-program the disk drive to read other formats (in particular,
the Commoodre 1541, which is different from all other DOS drives)

provide libraries to replace term io calls for porting software from UNIX
(most ideally, portable with no changes needed in the source being ported)

do on DOS what yacc does on UNIX, but with smaller code

If anybody knows about any PC tools that do this please let me know.
Thanksabunch.
