Does anyone have any thoughts on possible causes for keyboard locking that does not cause the mouse cursor to lock? I have a problem that takes place, on average, about once every 45 minutes where the keyboard will lock up on me (can't soft boot), but the mouse CAN still be used. It doesn't seem to be confined to any particular application, and I would say that 90% of the time the keyboard locks but the mouse does not, and 10% of the time both the mouse and keyboard lock. Another, possibly related, symptom is that once in a while certain keys seem to not transmit effectively to the CPU. An example of what I mean by this is when I am in Excel and I hit the CAP locks key and the computer will beep quickly three times (almost the same way it would if I had filled the keyboard buffer) and then finally after it stops beeping the cap locks registers with the application. The machine is a Taiwanese 25 MHZ '386 clone with a 90 meg ESDI drive using an Adaptect 2322B controller. It's getting pretty frustrating having to cold boot 10 times a day, so any guesses as to the problem are appreciated. Thanks, Will (sun!portal!cup.portal.com!Will)
