[net.movies] The Wild Geese was on, and I saw it.

Over the weekend I saw "The Wild Geese" on television, and
boy, was I glad. It's been *years* since I've seen such
gratuitious violence! Those mercenaries sure lead a life, don't
they? It's all "What Ho! Roger, we've been double-crossed!
Let's take over the country!" and "Aargh, I'm hit--kill me now,
Old Mate, don't let the bloody bastards capture me...."

What an inspiring film! It got me right here (I'm patting my heart)
when Roger Moore's character had to shoot his wounded men.
I have seen that kind of compassion only one other time: The
second to last scene in the movie, when Roger Moore's character
was forced to empty the clip of his AK-47 Assault Rifle into the
chest and bowels of his best friend as his friend hobbled slowly
after the airplane in which the mercenaries were making their
escape. I only hope I'm able to do that to *my* best friend
when he needs it.
