I recently assisted my mother-in-law in selecting a turbo XT clone, and was surprised that the local shop she chose sold her one apparently *without parity chips!* There are 8 256x120ns chips per bank - period. It has a DTK BIOS (which may have been modified by the shop), and *appears* to still do a parity check during POST. She bought it (against my advice), and it seems to work fine, with the exception of an apparently unrelated floppy problem (it intermittently won't read/write via the 360k drive). I'd be very interested in any light you can shed on this. If there's interest, I'll post a summary. UUCP: nosc!pnet07!johnlee (John Wiley - San Diego, CA.)
