[comp.sys.ibm.pc] PostScript Utilities needed

mikef@portia.Stanford.EDU (Michael Fallavollita) (12/16/89)

We are in great need of some PostScript utilities that run on a PC.
Specifically we need a text converter that will take an ASCII file and
create a printable PostScript file. We would also like to find a
program that would allow previewing PostScript plots/text on an EGA/VGA.
My lab is on a very tight budget so most commercial software is out of
the question. Public domain or shareware would be best.

Any replies, posts would be appreciated.

Fetch a copy of grape.ecs.clarkson.edu:/d/dosutil/postprn.zip. It's a
DOS device driver that accepts ASCII files, converts them to PostScript,
and sends them to the printer. Does landscape and portrait, 1-up, 2-up,
and 4-up.

I can provide a public domain ascii to postscript converter to anyone who
is interested. Microsoft C compilable.
