[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Kids software

Sorry, but my mail to Roy bounced. The rest of you can press 'n' now...

Roy:

There's a BBS in Illinois that caters specifically to software for kids
called Discovery Place BBS at (312) 383-6335. Note that I just read
the news that area code 312 changed to 708 in November, and either one
reaches my folks these days. Be sure to note the change, in case 312
support is dropped soon.

I keep meaning to dial them up, but life has been hectic with my own four
daughters :) :)

My wife wrote a couple of EGA-color games for our XT Zenith clone that
teach pattern matching and arithmetic. Our kids (well, the 4 and 7 year
olds) love 'em. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll see if
she'd like to distribute them. We're certainly not planning any
commercial distribution at this point, they were just learning processes
for Cathy and now for the kids! Apple does tend to corner this market,
but there *are* alternatives!!
