I am looking for the best deal in a lap-top in the $1200 range. I would like CGA or Hercules graphics capability, an RS-232 port (for laplink). What laptops exist in the $1200 range anyway? It's smaller and (slightly) lighter than the 1000, has CGA and ATT graphics (ATT graphics are 640x400 - better than Hercules - MS Windows looks very nice), has a normal proportion screen, backlit LCD, removable battery, takes up to 3Mb ram, has a 10MHz 80C86 (2.5 times faster than the original IBM PC/AT!) It's not due to be released in the US before February sometime (perhaps even in late January). I purchased mine in Finland for the equivalent price of $1600.00, but I suspect that the US street price will be around $1200-$1400. This is definitely THE portable to get if -and ONLY if- you can live without a hard disk.
