[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Problem Upgrading to DOS 3.3

vozel@pmday_1.Dayton.NCR.COM (Keith Vozel) (01/02/90)

I first posted this problem before Christmas, but I have been out of the
office and have not seen any replies....Please help if you can...

I have an XT clone that is running DOS 3.2 without any problems.
I can load DOS 3.3 from Drive A, and everything works fine. When
I install 3.3 on my hard drive, the system hangs. ROM BIOS boots,
does diagnostics, checks Drive A, resets the printer and then hangs.
No error message, no nothing, just a clear screen and a computer
    that hangs. Any ideas?

I have done an FDISK and reformatted my hard drive and still no
success. Booting from Drive A works, Drive C always hangs. Initial
thoughts were an outdated ROM BIOS, so I upgraded and the problem still
    exists. The original ROM displayed:

              DTK/ERSO/BIOS Ver. 2.35

    and the new ROM displays:

              DTK/ERSO/BIOS Ver. 2.42

Appropriate systems files like ".sys, .io, command.com and ansi.sys"
all exist, and the system still won't boot from Drive C. Anyone
know what I'm doing wrong, or is there a problem somewhere?

    Please help.!.!.!.!
