I should have been suspicious when an ad for 'tempest' appeared in the movie section one day, and no one I talked to had heard of it. We had seen no trailers, no interviews with the stars in the paper; the ad just came out of the blue. Obviously, the people who made the movie were not proud of it. I went anyway; this movie is a real snoozer. Oh, it's not a bad movie, its just not much of anything. The camerawork is excellent, but the acting is fair to poor, and there is no *point* to the movie. Most of the time is spent on flashbacks that explain how the characters got into their current situation. The "climax" and the conclusion take up about fifteen minutes. Suddenly, everything is resolved and you are given no idea why anything turned out the way it did. I guess I can express it best by saying that, at the end of the day, I wanted my three hours back.
