I have an IBM PS/2 color monitor that has a loose connection somewhere near where the power cord plugs into the monitor. So I tried to open the case to see if I could fix the problem since the local computer store charges a $20 "bench charge" just to look at the thing. It seems, however, that IBM has made it intentionally difficult to open the case. There is one screw on the bottom which seems to release the bottom part of the back of the monitor. But on top there are only these two slits in the plastic. It seems like you need a special tool to somehow release something inside there to open the thing? Is this the case? Am I going to have to pay them $20 just to fix a loose connection? Is there any way I can open the !#@%& thing? Thanks, Bob Janssens b-janssens@uiuc.edu
