Zenith 386 and WD ESDI controller - HELP

I purchased a WD-1007V-SE2 controller and a 9380E Miniscribe Drive.
I have been trying to install it in my Zenith 386/16 with no luck.
It seems that Zeniths Rom Shadowing is not allowing The Contoller Bios
to be accessed properly. I have Zenith Bios release 2.6E. If anybody has any
ideas or hints they would be most welcome. Zeniths Tech People really dont
know what will work in the machine and what wont. Except if its thier controllerThe WD guys have been trying to help but no luck so far. I might just have to
bite the bullet and try the Zenith Controller.

Respond or mail me.

We also use a Zenith Z-386 16-mhz system...... it is a piece of junk... nothing
quite seems to be compatible with it.

It was purchased during the memory crunch back in 88. Supposed to run
Windows/386. It was ordered with 2Mb or Ram, arrived with 1Mb. Windows/386
supplied with the machine would not run with the stock DOS (Zenith MS-DOS 3.3)
Zenith suggested upgrading to their MS-DOS 3.3plus (with an incompatible FAT)
Eventually we made it run under IBM PC-DOS 3.2. But the video board was garbage,
31 Khz but NOT VGA Compatible! That finally got thrown out for a Video 7 1024i.
To this day, Windows/386 is not stable and Windows/286 does not task switch
properly..

By the way, we caused enough commotion at Zenith that they sent us a free
megabyte of memory.
