I just found out (although it has apparently been known in Chicago for quite some time) that Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel have left Sneak Previews. They decided to go with a commercial station for greater exposure (and money). Sneak Previews will continue however. The producers conducted a nationwide search and looked at several hundred applicants. These were narrowed down to a few finalists, and I believe the final choice has been made, but it is being kept secret to milk the publicity for all its worth.

In fact, the two new guys on Sneak Previews were named in the SF Chronicle a week or so ago. They are both Chicago movie critics, at least one of them works for a radio station, and Jeffrey Lyons may be one of them (I have since recycled the issue in question).

Yes, the two critics jumped ship from WTTW in Chicago when their money demands were not met. WGN out of Chicago is syndicating their new show "At the Movies" which appears nation wide.

The critics jumped the ship and now the rats are running it. WTTW should find some new critics or dump the show. not afraid to dislike a PBS show Brent Taylor Naperville, Il. (BTL)
