[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Microsoft Paintbrush

jcb@loral.UUCP (Jay C. Bowden) (12/08/86)

Does anyone KNOW how to determine a screen size, and/or
matching print dimension that will guarantee a one-to-one
correspondence between screen dots and printer spots?
I'm frustrated with experimenting, so I would appreciate
an answer from someone who knows rather than helpful
suggestions.

Also, is there more than the simple manual available somewhere?
And is their setup program lame or what (in the latest version,
I did not have this prob with a previous version): I had to turn
off my c: and d: drives that I use for ramdisk at the dip
switches before I could get the thing to install. THanks
for any help.

I have Microsoft Paintbrush 2.0. Does anyone know how to
tell the program to use my VGA card's 640x400x256 mode, if at all
possible? I tried changing some of the values in the PAINT.BAT
batch file, but did not work. What is probably necessary is to
replace the 4 character code that indicates the video mode to
use? Does anyone know what that value is in the format used by
Paintbrush? Thanks in advance.
