[comp.sys.ibm.pc] The Seiko 1440 Super VGA monitor -- the best?

george@ccvr1.ncsu.edu (George Browning) (01/15/90)

In the December 18 issue of InfoWorld, Steve Gibson (Tech Talk) gave
the Seiko 1440 multisynch monitor a super review. Seiko uses the Sony
Trinitron tube, supports super-VGA autosizing (like the NEC 3D), and
will automatically turn itself off when the computer shuts down!!

The cheapest price I've found is $565 at FastMicro in the latest PC
magazine. This monitor sounds too good to be true -- is it?

I've heard about the 800x600 problems with the 1430 but I imagine this
is fixed in the 1440.

Please post or reply via email with any advice -- I would like to get
this monitor with the ATI VGA Wonder (w/512K).
