I have recently acquired an IBM 17" plasma display and display driver for one of my PC boxes. The Interface documentation describes many modes of operation the only one of use at the moment being the IBM Monochrome Display Adapter mode. The documentation describes its vector and Raster funtionality in very brief terms. The display driver card is a full length 8 bit card that has an 8088, memory, and the "Speshial" Plasma driver Chip. The monitor has a ~17 diagnal display surface surrounded by a 3" boarder of support electronics. Now what i am looking for are any cute little drivers that will allow it to emulate a CGA or Herculese board or Autocad (9 or or greater) MS Windows Gem, whatever. In the MDA mode only about 65% of the screen is used. It has several built in fonts It seems that it should be possible to write the equivelant of SYMCGA that works on Herc systems. Since the Display and board have been around since 1984 I am hoping that there are a few nifty utilities our there hiding in the dusty recesses of someones software shelf. Failing that, Any pointers to the Folks at IBM that may know any useful information on the display and adapter would also be appreciated (names and numbers etc). Many thanks in advance.. ##========================================================================## || __ ___ ||Mark D.
