I was interested in Saul Lubkin's article (Computer Shopper, August, 1989, p. 545) comparing two 386 Unix/DOS systems (Microport and Interactive Systems). He gives a series of benchmarks in Table I and Table II which supposedly compare the two OS's. However, it is not clear which table represents which system. He goes on to say that in general the Interactive OS is about 34% faster, but the figures in Table II are running 5 to 200 times longer than Table I. So it doesn't add up! Does anyone know the true meaning of these tables or how I could contact Mr. Lubkin to straighten this out? Jim Beauchamp j-beauchamp@uiuc.edu
