[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Backup Programs and NOVELL

asleeman@waikato.ac.nz (Andrew Sleeman (Computer Services)) (01/16/90)

Hi. I sorry for the mention of that world (ie NOVELL) but, I NEED urgently
to setup a program to dobackups of NOVELL servers. The main part I am
looking for is how in a DOS program do you find out all the extra bits of
info about files like there ownership, access-rights etc.

All suggestions [and source code] welcomed (excuding the obvious -
"biff NOVELL").

We used a Mountain Tape Drive where I worked last summer to back up our
Novell SFT 2.15 system, and the software that came with it knows all about
the assorted nifty things that Novell built into their file system. Or,
at least it does when writing the tape, so I imagine it gets it right when
you have to restore (after over half a year, the network was still working
fine).
