[comp.sys.ibm.pc] EGA->NTSC

Does anyone make a video card that looks like EGA to the
software, but puts out an NTSC (or maybe Y/C) signal that
can be recorded on a VCR?

Try USVideo. I just got a set of flyers from them about, surprise surprise,
their new VGA-NTSC RECORDABLE card. They also have a VGA-NTSC as well as a
"genlock overlay module" thats kind'a neat. Does chromakey of an external
NTSC source over the VGA screen and sends it out NTSC.

I have not seen these things work, only read the paper.

There is a card called the Willow VGA-TV that does what you are looking to do.
The company is located in New York City and you should give them a ring at
their number there. Although it is a VGA card, it can do EGA as well. I
haven't checked the output on a scope so I can't tell you if it's broadcast
quality or what, just that it does output (supposedly) NTSC RS170a video out
of an RCA jack in the back of the board in up to 640x480x256.
