OK folks, I'm frustrated. I'm trying to come up with a personal
computer system that will allow me to conveniently sync real-
time animation with music. I'm trying to put a started
multimedia setup together for around $4,500, and I prefer to
work in the AT/386 world, but I'm not getting anywhere very fast.
Autodesk's Animator product for the PC looks quite good for the
price, but, according to their support people, they don't have any
hard plans right now to add the capability of syncing animations
with sound (though they would reportedly like to).
The so-called multimedia PC from IBM and the multimedia DOS from
Microsoft is still a ways away (anybody know where I can get more
info about these coming products?), and I want to buy a system and
get started ASAP. All this is driving me to the Amiga camp. There
I can get a multitasking system with plenty of software options for
syncing real-time animation with sound. I think the AT is the better
option for the long-term, but I'm tired of waiting.
Anybody out there got any ideas? Please E-mail.
Thanks much -
