The Alec Guiness movies in question are: 1) "The Lady Killers," in which he is the leader of a gang of robbers living in an apartment rented from an old lady. He does not play multiple roles in this movie; perhaps the confusion stems from the fact that the cover he presents to the old lady is that of a conductor of a chamber music group. 2) "Kind Hearts and Coronets," in which he plays all of the heirs who are killed by the main character in the movie (who, incidentally, is played by Dennis Price, not Guiness). 3) "The Lavender Hill Mob" was misidentified by another replier; in this movie he plays a mild-mannered gentleman who decides to rob the Bank of England.
