A freind of mine has got a 386, and was looking for a native mode 386 compiler for real cheap. I located the diff files for gnu's GCC for the 386, but there are several questions about it. A) is GCC a UNIX only affair? He can't pay SCO's prices, and so is stuck under DOS for the time being. B) If it does work under DOS could someone out there point me to a source of the compiled binaries? This'd be a lot simpler that using the diff files and recompiling the thing. C) (even if it's unix only) anyone care to share any comments on GCC? If he could scrape up the money for the cheapest version of XENIX (sans C compiler and such) could he possibly get GCC running, and if so, is it a viable compiler? Thanks (oh, any replies can be redirected to lfoard@max.wpi.edu, since he's the one with the 386, I'll clip 'n save any posted articles for him) -- --Warning!!!
