[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Format 360K

zmacy91@flamingo.doc.ic.ac.uk.doc.ic.ac.uk (Gary K Smith) (01/18/90)

I have an Archimedes, with a PC Emulator (which although slightly slow
it is a very good emulation). I have two drives - one a 3.5" and the other a
5.25" drive (with 40/80 track options). When I format the 5.25" drive, the
format program automatically formats it as 720K (which is readable in 80 track
mode.)
I can read 360K 5.25" useing the 40 track option on the drive - can
anyone tell me how to format 360K disks.

			Thanks
				Gary.

Isn't there some sort of command like FORMAT A:/4 or FORMAT/4 A: or such like?

You can format a 360K disk on a 1.2mb drive by issuing a
FORMAT A:/t:40/n:9
