Greetings, all. My girlfriend received an EPSON FX-850 printer for her Compaq Deskpro last Xmas. The printer has this extremely nice feature in that it does not waste that single sheet of paper between listings. It is able to do this because it winds the paper back with a special "Load/Eject" button. Now, here's the problem. We went away for this Xmas break, and the printer was left alone. It worked when we left, but when we came back, it didn't. When you roll a page back, it should keep it back before the roller. That works. But when you press "Load/Eject" or "On Line", it should load the paper to the start of the page. It does this, followed *immediately* by form feeding the page up to the top of the next one. By the way, the single- sheet feed works just dandy. We can't locate the manual for the printer, so *any* help you can give would be *MOST* appreciated. (We really don't want to send it to the hospital for what seems to be a simple problem to fix.) (Plus, we don't have $$$ to blow.) Thanks. (Please e-mail, I rarely have time to read all the news I want.) Steve kaminski@scl.cwru.edu
