Hi all, I had posted a little while back asking for info on the drive select jumpers for two Atasi disks, a model 3051 and 3046. I am trying to daisy-chain the two on an XT using a WDXT-GEN controller. I am using a twisted cable from the controller. I have set both drive select jumpers to the second unit select position so that the end drive gets its unit number switched to unit 1 by the cable. I have successfully low-level formatted the drives using DEBUG with g=c800:5. When I boot from the DOS 4.01 install floppy and try to run fdisk to partition the drives, I am able to partition only the last drive C:. The error I get from FDISK is "unable to access drive 2". When I further try to high-level format the C: drive that I was able to partition, The drive access lights on the C: and D: drives flicker and the format fails. IT seems to be confused on which disk is which. The drives are not damaged because I can use them individually on a straight command cable. I am not that familiar with DOS 4.01 and I was wondering if anyone knew if I have forgot some params in some file somewhere. OR possibly their is some other jumper that needs to be set on the drives ? The drives are 42 and 39 MB respectively and I wanted to use one partition on each drive. C: 42 and D: 39. Thanks in advance.. BTW, Thanks to the people who responded with the jumper info. Steve Jamieson Harris Semiconductor rutgers!soleil!jamieson
