While I agree that the original Airplane was a far better film, there were a number of good parts in Airplane II...well worth the $10.00 for my date and myself.. **spoiler...sort of** It did bother me that no-one but myself understood the tribute to H.A.L. from 2001 in the film, the same voice, same problem, same solution (ie dismantle life support systems for the Computer) and the same reply by the machine (opening the airlock and WHOOSH!). I was the only person in the theater that laughed...oh well, I suppose that 2001 being my favorite film, I was bound to catch the 'rip-off'. Another funny moment was when Pilot and friend (can't remember the names, regretfully) were talking to Mission Control and MC says "things look pretty grim" and the camera flashes to the shuttle and Mr. Grim Reaper is standing patiently by the door... **end of spoiler** I do recommend the movie, nonetheless, especially to people who thought that Airplane was funny, and Police Squad and the other bizarre types of things around. -- Dave Taylor ..sdcsvax!taylor @UCSD
