Help! I am periodically getting errors on my IBM XT clone that say: PARITY ERROR ON MAIN BOARD (press any key to continue) The only problem is that I don't know where this is coming from, or actually, which board it is referencing, whether it's my motherboard or my EMS memory board. I have parity checking turned on on my EMS mem card, so would it be that? If I turn it off, what will happen when I get an error? This is a very nasty problem, this morning I lost a paper I was writing in word perfect because I hadn't saved it yet, and the backups weren't turned on (you bet they are now!). When I use the util that came with my memory card (PMI Fastcard III), it says all my chips are ok. This is obviously intermittent, but is there some utility out there that will test my chips for like 6 hours or something until it finds an error? Or is there a TSR that will grab the address when it happens?? What kind of memory utilities should I look for? Thanks in advance!
