[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Is DAK any good?

mary@oravax.UUCP (Mary E. Douthitt) (02/10/90)

I have been shopping around for a 286 to run business applications
necessary for the operation of a small family farm. I found a system
in a DAK catalog for around $2000. It came with a 40MB hard drive,
VGA graphics, an enormous amount of software, and runs at 16mhz.

My primary concern is telephone technical support as the computer will
be used out in the boonies. Driving to a dealer for help when needed
would be quite a hassle. Has anyone dealt with this company? Are
their products reliable and is their support adequate?

I greatly appreciate in advice which can be offered.

If you are a "rookie", the DAK system and their support is just the
ticket, especially if you are in the "boonies".

I have two friends purchase their systems and swear by DAK's support
even after having some hardware that had to be replaced.

Good luck,
