One more note on "The Verdict". I have been told of some professional flaws, which I myself cannot judge, due to my lack of expertise in these areas. The first, and more minor, is that the group of lawyers working for the defense was much too large; in real life, that many lawyers never get together to discuss one case. The second, and more significant thing, is that standard procedure for general anasthesia during an operation is to insert a tube (its name escapes me) into the throat so that anything that comes up during the operation can quickly be removed. Neglecting this part of the procedure HAS been the basis of malpractice suits, but this omission was never mentioned in the movie. If you feel qualified to disagree, feel free to do so, but don't flame on me -- I'm only passing on information from sources I respect. Jim Heliotis
