[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Ventura: why doesn't ruler match?

I am printing something in Ventura on a Laserjet IIP,
and the DISTANCES in the printed output do not match
the ruler in Ventura!  Like 8 1/4" on the ruler comes
out 7 7/8" on the printout!  Anyone know why?
