The 11/6/89 version of WordPerfect 5.1 has a problem printing to IBM printers (at least Proprinters) from documents that were created under 5.0 and imported to 5.1. The problem is that all fonts print in half-height mode. There is a workaround, and they will send you an update disk free if you call their Printer number (800) 541-5160. The workaround: Start WP. Enter the Print menu with Shift-F7. do Select Printer, and then highlight the Proprinter and hit 3 for Edit. Go into #4 - Cartridges and Fonts. Select Built-In fonts with RET. Remove the * from each half-height entry. Then, hit F7 twice. Then, hit F7 again, select your default printer and hit 1 for Select. Next, whenever you want to print a document that causes this problem, be sure to put a Font Code at the top of the document, even if it is in the default font. You can do this with Home-Home-Up, Cntl-F8, 4 - Base Font, and RETURN. This fix will work until you get the update fix. The update fix should allow half-height again correctly.
