A friend of mine is having trouble at work with floppy disks which are formatted and written to by Compaq 286 computers (I don't know model numbers or age of the PCs). These disks work fine on the Compaq computers but will (apparently at random) lose all data when the disk is written to by a non-Compaq computer. Has anyone else had this problem ? I seem to recall a discussion a while back about Compaq using their own disk controller, but I didn't really read the articles. Could this be the problem ? Could someone email me the articles pertaining to the Compaq disk controller ? Sorry if this is a repeatedly asked question. Thanks in advance for any information.
