I've almost finished the book, and was glad to see on the cover that it was supposed to become a movie. Glad because the writing is so accurate in every detail (logic analyzers, wire-wrapping) and explains computers well, and not once sinks into Hollywoodisms, Time-Lifeiisms, nor (thank god) Omni-isms. However, I too immediately ondered what sort of flick could be made of something like this. Best bet would be a tough human drama, with heavy character actors doing Rasala, West, etc., and devoting plenty to the Jewish kid who quit, etc. Someone suggested that Hollywood might go true to form and blow up a lot on the guys' domestic situations -- every astronaut/test pilot flick has gobs of nervous wives & kids. I suspect there was really a lot more of this happening than got into the book! The schedules those guys kept...what family would sit for that for more than a month? The younger ones were single, but several of the manager-engineers are mention as having wives, teenagers, etc. Maybe they'll rename it "TRON Over 30". mike k
