I saw Sophie's Choice Saturday afternoon. I will be brief. It was an EXCELLENT movie. Great acting by all three major characters. I think this is the best performance I've seen by Meryl Streep. The story blew me away more than any movie has in ten years. However, if you don't like to think about what went on at Auschwitz (sp?) during WW2, perhaps you ought to stay away. There was nothing too horrible SHOWN, however; just talked about. I'd rate this movie at $6.50. Jim H

I thought that Sophie's Choice was one of the best movies that I have seen in quite a while. I can't remember the last time that I was so deeply affected by a movie. What I don't understand, is why this movie didn't get nominated for a best picture award. (The best actress award was certainly warranted). I realize that only so many movies can be nominated, but Sophie's Choice is certainly better than some of the others that were nominated. Does anyone have any ideas about what might have happened here? Rick Zaccone {allegra, burdvax}!psuvax!zaccone
