Did anyone out there find TSOANM as incredibly dull as I did? After all, who wants to read a book about what is essentially everyday life at the office for a great portion of the engineers in this country? And a movie from it? I shudder at the thought of sitting through such a film. Should rank right up there with "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes." ...uvacs!pds

I happened to really like Attack of the Killer Tomatos. Much better than a lot of stuff on the silver screen, anyway. Dave Andersen

As for how boring SOANM (or "Attack of the Killer Bus Glitches") was as a book, not to mention a movie: the book had spectacle value. Sure it dragged, but the interesting thing was that it could be done at all. "Death in the Afternoon" probably made bull-fighters yawn a lot (I suspect, being Real Men, that they don't read novels, anyway) but impressed many other people. Of course, there might be an element of narcissism in all this... Michael Turner
