I have been having troubles with differences arising in PC and UNIX TIFF file formats. I have been trying to convert PC .tif files to postscript format on a Sun WorkStation using the two programs tifftopgm and pgmtops. Unfortunately tifftopgm says that my tiff file is in a bad format, but it doesn't give any more details. Anyone know what's going on and how to remedy it? Thanks. Bowman N. Just a guess: The PC and MAC TIFF formats are a little different. Specifically, the MAC (Motorola) CPU stores data in a high byte-low byte format, where the Intel processors store data in a low byte-high byte format. The TIFF Developer's Toolkit ($20.00 from Aldus Corp. - (206) 622-5500) has good info that may help you resolve this problem. In addition, they have the C source for several useful routines including a byte-swapping routine. I have no connection with Aldus Corp. whatsoever. ====================================================================== Mark R.
