I have recently added a second drive to an XT clone with a Western
Digital WDXT-GEN2 PLUS disk controller board with a twisted cable.
The first drive is a Miniscribe 20 Mbyte drive. The second drive which
was added to the system is a Seagate ST251 40 Mbyte drive. The disk
controller board specifies that when a Second drive is added, the
termination resistor is removed from drive 1 (i.e. the Miniscribe 20
Mbyte drive) which I did. It also specifies that both drives should be
set as drive 2. That was easily accomplished on the Seagate drive by
moving the jumper one slot over on the back of the drive. The
difficulty lies in that I do not know how to reset the Miniscribe
drive from Drive 1 to Drive 2. There is a 8 position dip switch
on the drive and I don't know how to set the dip switches. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
