I haven't seen Gallipoli or The Year of Living Dangerously, but I've seen Picnic at Hanging Rock and The Last Wave. I also saw the poster for Cars that Eat People (or whatever the title was), it looked pretty wild. I really liked Picnic, and I liked Wave even better. It is full of this wonderful tension that I found reminiscent of Nicholas Roeg's Don't Look Now (another great movie with Julie Cristie and Donald Southerland). Oh yes, The Last Wave stars Richard Chamberlain, who used to be Dr. Kildare (sp?) I believe. He does a good job. I suspect that the real star of a Weir movie is Weir. Jan Edler cmcl2!edler (nyu)
