I recently purchased a Panasonic KX-P4450 Laser with the 1.5MB memory option. The Panasonic emulates the HP Laserjet Plus as well as about four matrix printers. The rest of the system is a PC BRAND 286/20 with 110-meg Toshiba RLL drive and MSDOS 4.01. I have it working beautifully with Windows/286 and Aldus Pagemaker, but I'd like to get it working with Ventura. When I select the "HPLJ Plus" printer from the menu and then try to print something, like one of the sample documents provided, the machine locks up. The computer locks up at the point where "loading printer fonts" or something to that effect comes on the screen. The computer cannot be warm-booted without pressing the reset button on the front of the CPU. I trust that I'll need to re-install Ventura to get it to work with the new printer (I really had no printer and was not using Ventura before this). Do I really need to re-install Ventura? I'm fairly stumped and would appreciate some help or comments.... THANKS for any and all comments and suggestions! ___________________________________________________________________ _________ / Marcus Clenney, WD4GQM ___ ___ /___ ___/ ________ / U. of Central Florida / | / | / / / ______/ / Dept. of Computer Science / /| | / /| | / / / / / Orlando, FL 32816 / / | |/ / | | / / / /_____ / wordproc@ucf-cs.ucf.edu /_/ |___/ |_| /_/ /_______/ / ____________________________________________________________/
