I'm not sure if this is the proper group for this question, but here goes: A few friends of mine are starting a printing company. They would like to use a MacIIcx-based DTP system to do their layout, but it is far too expensive an option. Therefore, they decided to go with a 386 or 386sx box. They want to use the beastie only for layout. They will then print the results on a laserprinter (any inexpensive recommendations there ???) and photograph the result to burn plates to run the high-speed press. Has anyone tried this before? If so (even if you have not DONE it), could you pass on your experiences/recommendations for a decent system to purchase? Please send your replies to me and I'll summarize to the net. Thanks...
