I would like to know what differences people have observed among the various 286 and 386 chip-sets that most currently made motherboards are based on. I have encountered 4 different brands on various mother- boards: Neat, Chips & Technologies, VLSI and Suntac. I don't know if it's necessary or important to distinguish between different versions of a given chipset from a given manufacturer. I'm particularly interested in how they differ with respect to their support for EMS and their compliance with the LIM 4.0 specification. Most or all seem to claim to support LIM 4.0 but I've heard that not all do so completely. Thanks for any info. -- John Wright ////////////////// Phone: 902-424-3805 or 902-424-6527 Post: c/o Dr Pat Lane, Biology Dept, Dalhousie U, Halifax N.S., CANADA B3H-4H8 Cdn/Eannet:lane@cs.dal.cdn Uucp:lane@dalcs.uucp or {uunet watmath}!dalcs!lane Arpa:lane%dalcs.uucp@uunet.uu.net Internet:lane@cs.dal.ca
