I need a copyprogram for copying files from PC to Apricot F1 3.5" 720K-disks. Apricot F1 is a MSDOS-based computer but uses a different filesystem so copying with normal dos-copy isn't possible. Where can I get a such program?

We have some rather elderly Apricot PC/xi machines which run MS-DOS 2.11 and format their 720K disks in a non PC-compatible form. However, since we upgraded the RAM BIOS to Release 3.1 (from 2.7 I think), we have been able to read and write 720K disks formatted on a PC clone without difficulty. I think the F1 series are pretty much like the PC/xi in their dissimilarity from PC clones, so it might be worth trying to get a more recent system disk. You could try writing to Apricot, which is a UK company based in Birmingham. (The version of the RAM BIOS you have should be shown on screen as the machine boots.) -- Leila Burrell-Davis, Computing Service, University of Sussex, Brighton, UK Tel: +44 273 678390 Fax: +44 273 678335 JANET: leilabd@uk.ac.sussex.syma INTERNET: leilabd%syma.sussex.ac.uk@nsfnet-relay.ac.uk BITNET: leilabd@syma.sussex.ac.uk UUCP: leilabd@syma.uucp
