I saw "Britannia Hospital" this evening. An ad had mentioned MASH in its copy, probably because both movies involve a hospital. The similarity ends there. BH is a British satire/farce which has absolutely no main character. Mark Hammill has a bit part, he must have been walking down the street while they were filming. Some of BH is reminiscent of "Dawn of the Dead." The "plot" revolves around the fact that Her Royal Highness is coming to grace BH with her presence to celebrate the hospital's 500th birthday. There is a great deal of turmoil at the hospital because the common folks are all on strike and demonstrating becuase the wealthy patients are treated much better than the poor ones. Add an ingenious mad scientist/surgeon and a little bit of gorey mischief and you have a pretty weird movie. Don't see this movie if you have high standards, but if you have a twisted sense of humor and a taste for the absurd then you might find it worth a watch. It ain't MASH.
