With the exception of one response, all the responses were quite negative about attempting any DTP on a 386 box. In short, most people said that by the time you purchased all the hardware/software to make a 386 do as good a job as a Mac, you would spend more money than buying an actual Mac. I'll pass this advice on to my friends.
