A good kids movie and light entertainment for adults.
The plot is very contrived with innumerable coincidences of good fortune.
The ending is no surprise to anybody.
The actor they picked to play Alec (boy who owns the black stallion) must
have been picked so that he wouldn't detract from the horse's beauty.
The character Alec is portrayed so that his IQ won't compete with the horse's.
Sickeningly overdone "friendship" develops between two people who barely
know each other.
Etc.
I thouroughly enjoyed it (more due to my companion's (Laurie and Sue) and
my own comments than the movie itself).
Take your kids to it.
