[comp.sys.ibm.pc] LIM 4.0 Reference Materials

forsythe@ncrcam.Cambridge.NCR.COM (David Forsythe) (03/07/90)

I am looking for a good reference book dealing with the programming practices
using LIM 4.0 standards for expanded memory manipulations. The context
should include a general description of how the different functions are used.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Soorry if this is the wrong newsgroup
to post this in!

Please E-MAIL any responses to forsythe@System.Cambridge.NCR.Com

In rregards to the recent number of postings requesting info of any sort
about EMS usage. Intel offers a collection of library routines and
documentation about EMS free of charge from its PCEO division. This
include all the EMS handling you'd probably ever want to do, with both C and
assembley code provided. The documentation includes both information about
the routines, and a full description of the EMS specification and "proper"
 programming procedures for using EMS.
I don't have the phone number here, but it should be available from the
 800 number directory assistance.

The documentation on the LIM 4.0 spec is NOT FREE. It is free to Above Board
owners ONLY! However, if you wish to obtain the spec, call the Intel PCEO
bulletin board at 503-645-6275 (2400 baud 24 hours a day).
