My aren't we clever! I am referring to the inane correspondence being carried on between cbosgd!jcg (whom I don't recall ever seeing around these parts) and rabbit!lucius concerning the educational level and emphasis of engineers being carried on in this newsgroup. As I see it, we have here a case of two pig-headed individuals (if they are indeed people and not bizarre AI projects, or something similar) arguing a point that doesn't apply to either one of them. The original point seemed to be "some engineers have little regard for the proper use of English." This point, though distasteful to well- lettered engineer types (both antagonists seem to fall into this category) is hardly worth the effort expended by these two. Just read net.flame for awhile and you can see that there are clearly two types of net readers -- those that don't give a *&^@^% about the use of English and those that do. In the population of all netnews readers, if such a bifurcation of opinion holds true, then it is quite reasonable to assume the same is true for the "engineer" types who are a large proportion of that population. What this means, clearly, is that the original point stated above, is, in all likelihood, vacuously true and not worth debate. I can only conclude that both rabbit!lucius and cbosgd!jcg are carrying on this discussion, either for the sake of the thrill they receive by reading their own "incredibly witty" submissions or by some bizarre mutual agreement on their part to conspire to waste our time, or both. Enough said. Every concerned reader of net.movies should post mail to one or both of these perpetrators expressing your disgust at their folly. And they may rest assured that any further articles in this group from either of them will get a quick tap of the 'n' key from this terminal! Striving to make the net useful, ---> Chuck A DeGaul <---

I ask readers of this newsgroup one favor. When you engage in the harassment that the alleved cbosgd!cad wants you to engage in, please send (he/she/it) a copy, since the supposed "Chuck A. DeGaul" is also a phoney. I readily admit that lucius is phoney. The login does exist, will receive mail, and will not engage in the sort of deliberate malice that cad, bimmler, ccf, james, and the like engage in. I certainly may rise to their bait, for the express purpose of seeing them labled flamers, and for the hopeful purpose of exposing them as "cowards" <Not my choice of words.> I use this login so that I can seperate my hate mail, and other such stuff, from the login that I must use to do useful work. It's unfortunate that people have chosen to engage in so much deliberate misuse of the net, <myself included, I suppose, although I attempt to avoid malice and slander> but it can and will continue. I suspect that many of the names on the net may be forged in the nera future, courtesy of the threatening and insulting behavior of many net mailers. <I suppose they read before they write, but I dunno.> Enough, take this whole conversation to net.flame. DeGaul, whoever you are, you should have posted your note there, where I would feel less guilty about answering it.

Why are we so rude to eachother? I suggest that we establish a new standard of network etiquitte that categorizes personal attacks as the lowest form of human babble. Paul Sweazey
