Has anaybody experience with SCSI controllers? I recently bought a Maxtor 360 MB hard disk and have bought an OMTI 820 SCSI controller. I am a little bit disapointed about the performance. It takes an incredibly long time to boot (the controller has trouble finding it's disks) and the average seek time is 24 ms as opposed to the the 14 ms that the Maxtor drive is capable of. I am looking for a controller that is faster and that will besides DOS also run SCO Unix. Anybody out there has any suggestions? Oscar van der Meer UUCP: omeer@neabbs.nl

It takes an I'm running SCSI under 386/ix using an Adaptec 1542 and Micropolis 9380S drive. The throughput is excellent - at times as high as 1.23 megabytes/sec. Under DOS - the drive and controller benched at 980 kb/sec.
