I am currently working on a PC graphics and communications package that is a real hog and in bad need of some overlays. We are considering purchasing an extended version of Plink86 that will handle the overlay design work. Sage software, the makers of Plink86, bought the Overlay Architect and Overlay Optimizer tools from At Last! software to bundle with their product. I have never worked with overlays before, and my main concern is whether or not the overlay version will take up much more disk space; our program now will run on 2 360K floppies and we are interested in keeping this setup. We can live with 50-60K worth of extra files, but not much more. Can someone with some overlay experience tell me if this can be managed? Our program has about 500-600 modules, the executable is about 290K and we have about 100K of resident tools loaded too. Also, can anyone who has used these overlay tools from At Last tell me if they are as good as they claim? -- Tod Gordon (tod@argus.njit.edu, tdg1465@hertz.njit.edu)
